Project FAITH-BOOK CHALLENGE #1

Welcome Fellow Project Faith-Book Friends!!!

I am SO excited to introduce this area of Scrap Booking to you, and I pray that it is enlightening and encouraging to all of you!

I have had many of you ask me “What is Project Faith-Book”? And after much prayer and thought this is what I have put together.

Faith booking is an important part of scrap booking our heritage!   Even if you are new to scrap booking you will agree it is the best way to preserve memories of vacations, birthdays, new additions to the family, and other special events in our lives. Just ask anyone who scrap-books. You will find that activities and special times with family and friends are the biggest reason for scrap-booking.  With Project Faith-Book the focus is on our spiritual journey and the Faith heritage. Which we want for those who are here now and those who come behind us to remember!  Project Faith-Book is putting the face of God on our scrapbook pages. As believers, we, like Jacob, see the face of God in our everyday lives during our everyday activities (Genesis 32:30.)

Project Faith-Book is basically combining our beliefs and experiences with God and the memories we leave for our children, grandchildren, and so on, (you get the picture right?)  using scrap booking. What greater legacy could we leave?

We will be creating an actual Faith-Book aka scrap-book. That is the reason I mentioned your choice of Albums.  We will be doing different projects each challenge to build on our Faith and to scrap our memories. There will be discussions and comments on the Face Book page to encourage, motivate, and help each other along the way. Keep in mind this is a Christian project and should be treated as such. We as Daughters of the King of Kings are above what is improper and displeasing to Jesus. We are Children of a Great God and should present ourselves in that manner.

Regardless of your scrapbook style, if faith is an important part of your life then you will want to
preserve this for future generations. Let’s begin today to capture those moments when we feel God’s presence in our lives and around us in every day beauty and awe.

WHERE THERE’S A CHALLENGE THERE’S RULES:

So... for the low down....

1. First and foremost - You are required to follow this blog and like the face-book page located here: Facebook.com/CartersCraftingCorner  to participate in Project Faith-Book. If you already have those covered that’s great!! If not please make it a priority. The challenges and information will be posted here on the blog. The discussions, ideas, questions, and comment will be posted on the Face-Book Page. This is a "HAND'S ON Challenge. Remember we are here to encourage and motivate each other.

2. There will be one challenge posted each month. The Challenge will post on the 29th of each month. The challenge closes on the 28th day of the month.

3. There are no special requirements for this challenge other than it has to be a scrap-book layout (lo). Be creative and show your personality. Anything and everything goes!!! So use your creativity and make this special for yourself and for your family heritage.

4. If there are any special requirements for any of the challenges I will let you know ahead of time and they will be also be posted here under other requirements.

5. You can use Mr. Linky at the bottom of the post to link us to your blog page that has your challenge project. Please make sure you link directly to your post about the challenge, and not just your blog in general and send your crafty friends over to join us.

6. If you don't have a blog or online gallery, play anyway! You can send a picture of your project with your name the challenge month and year, and the name of the current challenge in the subject line. For instance, Kathy Carter, July 2013, All About Me – I Am A Daughter of the King. Send your picture to carterscraftingandmore by the 28th of the month. I am not responsible for any undelivered or failed delivery emails. I will email you back and let you know that I received it.

7. If you do post on a blog, please link people back to this blog so others can join us too!

8. Each month, the layouts will be featured here with a short description. Due to the type of challenge this is, I have not decided yet if I will pick winners and have prizes. If that changes I will make an announcement. ~~THE END~~

I look forward to seeing your projects! And the personality you put into your layouts.

If you have any questions, please contact me by sending an email to: carterscraftingandmore or leave a comment here on the post.

Now that all the technical stuff is out of the way let's get to the challenge and have fun!

The first challenge is titled:

***About Me – I am a Daughter of the King***

I posted a sneak peak of the sketch earlier this morning to get you all thinking and now here is the rest of the challenge along with the sketch one more time!!!  Here are the things you will be using in this challenge. These are for inspiration and your interpretation is what counts. You are free to be creative and use what you want to on the layout.

FRAME:

QUESTIONS:

1. Were you named after anyone? Who?

2. If you were someone else do you think you would be friends with you?

3. What is your best quality as a person?

4. What is your favorite Ice Cream?

5. What color shoes are you wearing?

6. If you were a crayon, what color would you be?

7. What is your favorite season?

8. What are your 2 favorite smells?

10. When did you get saved? Baptized?

**Please feel free to elaborate and be creative with your questions too!! LET’S HAVE SOME FUN!!!**

JOURNALING: What gives you inspiration? This can be anything from a verse, a song, a quote, or anything else that inspires you. And please tell a little about why you chose what you did.

Now is the time to begin the CHALLENGE!!!! Before you begin: Pray about it and then have fun with it!!!

Please leave a comment and let me know that you are participating and what you think of Project Faith-Book so far. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to read what you have to say and will respond to comments as soon as I possibly can.

With that, I want to say Thank You for helping to make this dream a reality. This is a project that I have been planning for quite some time.

Until Next Time,

Be Blessed ~~ Kathy
Please feel free to share this on Facebook, Twitter, or any other Social Media of your choice.

****Please note: As this is the very first time for the Challenge there are bound to be some bumps in the road, hiccups, and issues. Please bear with me as I get this all running smooth and pray for me that this is a success and a blessing to all of you and Our Father in Heaven.****

A SNEAK PEAK - INCLUDING THE LAYOUT SKETCH

Good morning to all you lovely ladies who are ready to start your Project Faith-Book.

Before I show you the sneak peak there is something I want to share with you

My Princess,
You are a daughter of the King, and not just any king. You are My daughter, and I am the Creator, God of all heaven and earth. I’m delighted with you! You are the apple of My eye. You’re Daddy’s girl. I formed your body. I fashioned your mind and soul. I understand your needs and desires and I love you passionately and patiently.
My child, I bought you with a price so that we could have an intimate relationship together now and for all eternity. Soon we will see each other face-to-face—Father and daughter—and you will experience the wonderful place I have prepared for you. For now, I want you to fix your eyes on heaven, and walk closely with Me. You will know that—although I am God—My arms are not too big to hold you, My beloved daughter.
Love,
Your King and your Daddy in heaven

“And I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.”
Corinthians 6:18

I hope you find this poem as precious as I do. It holds a very special place in my heart. There is nothing better than a Love Letter From Our Father. I shared this because I want each of you to know that you ARE a Princess of the King of Kings. And he thinks you are perfect to him. He loves you unconditionally.

With that here is a peak at the 1st Challenge Sketch:

This is the sketch of the layout we will be using for the First Page in our Faith-Book. It is hand drawn so I know it may not be even and is far from perfect, but I think you get the idea. The measurements across the top are for your reference and are not a part of the layout. I didn't measure this to fit any particular page size. That is up to you. It will depend on which size album you are using. I haven't decided what size I am using but when I do I will share a picture of it with you. Please chose an album to use that you can decorate on the front. That will be one of your challenges in a few weeks.

Are you up for the challenge? I can guarantee you this is going to be a challenge like no other challenge you have entered before. I hope you are ready! Remember this is with Sisterly Love!!! And if you stick with me you will be very pleased with the out come.

Do you believe God loves you unconditionally and you are the apple of his eye? This sketch and this poem are to give you something to think about for the day. PLEASE Don't start a layout yet. There is going to be more to it than just the sketch and the poem.

Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think of the poem. I am really interested to read what you have to say.

At 3:00 pm CDT, You will get the rest of the Challenge and the Rules and all that good stuff. There is one thing I do want to clarify. In the beginning I was going to make this a short challenge.  However with all that is going on this week-end, and the 4th of July is coming soon - I wanted to make sure we all have plenty of time and can participate. So I will be back shortly. Hope to meet you here.

God Bless~~ Kathy

For many of you it has been summer for weeks and for others, like us up here in the North, we are barely starting to see the start of summer. I found some really pretty summer pattern paper and can hardly wait to see what I can create for summer cards and layouts. Have you been doing any summer cards or layouts yet this year? Please feel free to share what you have been doing.

What are you all looking forward to this summer?  Do you have any plans for vacations or stay-cations? I love stay-cations. They can be a true treasure of fun and information around your own area. I like going to towns close to home that I haven't been to and seeing all the history and eating with the locals. •  Like my Face Book Page: facebook.com/CartersCraftingCorne ***there is also a contest going on at the FaceBook page for a set of Darts when the page reaches 50 Likes!!!
*** For the First Annual 4th of July Red, White, and Blue Blog Hop one
LUCKY person is going to receive a $15.00 Gift Certificate to the Craft Store of your choice. The LUCKY WINNER will be announced here at **CartersCraftingCorner** on Thursday June 27th. The winner will have one week to claim their prize(s).

My project is of course a 4th of July Card: Today I am posting a rather clean and simple card.

I started with a standard 5” x 6 ½” White Card Blank. Then I used a Piece of 8” x 8” Red Foil Paper slightly trimmed. And embossed the Dark Blue (might look black in the picture) Shimmer Paper from HOTP (Hot off the Press) with The Birthday Surprise Stars and Swirls (A2 Large) and applied 3 Dimensional Chipboard, Puffy, Glitzy Stars, and a Sentiment Sticker. I lined the back of the Sentiment with a piece of the Dark Blue Shimmer Paper so it wouldn’t attach to the embossing and show an imprint. You can kind of see the foil paper shining in the table the card is on.

For your next stop please visit the talented Danita Kinney by

Thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to stop by today and visit. I hope you enjoy your time on the BLOG HOP. Please come back again. There will always be something FUN and EXCITING happening.

      IT'S FINALLY FRIDAY

Hi Ya'll,  I wanted to get something on here before you all thought my room attacked me and I got lost in that mess :-) Things have been quite busy around here. My granddaugter has been spending some time with her Tee-Tee, that's me!! She couldn't say grandma when she was little so I became her Tee-Tee and boy has it stuck. More people think my name is Tee-Tee instead of Kathy. She is my crafting buddy. She loves to craft with me when she is here.
This is the cute monster fan she made (with a little help) from Tee-Tee.

And here are the super cute summer butterflies she made earlier this week also with a little help from Tee-Tee.

      CRAFT ROOM PROGRESS
I am still diligently working on getting things put back the way I really want them this time. Before, as I accumulated crafting stuff it was just putting stuff where I could fit it. Now it is going to be a workable area. I do have to get this done before the carpet cleaner comes on Monday. Oh yeah, that's me! I almost forgot :-) - Yep, I'm the carpet cleaner too.

      BLOG HOP - June 21st - 23rd - It's OFFICIAL
Not to mention we have the BIG BLOG HOP coming up in a few weeks. Before I go any further I need to give a GREAT BIG SHOUT OUT: To my wonderful friend and partner, without her I wouldn't know what I was doing. La-Vie at http://cestla-viedesigns.blogspot.com/ she has been such a blessing to me. As I promised, here is a little more information about the Blog Hop. First of all, if you have a blog and you want to join in there are a few spots left to fill. Either comment on this post or email me if you want to get in on the FUN!  Let your blogging friends know too. The more the merrier, right??!!  Here is what I have going so far. It is going to be a Patriotic Blog Hop. The official theme is: 4th of July 2013, Red, White, and Blue. I guess that kind of says a lot about it. Whatever is made by the bloggers on the Hop will coincide with that theme, and they are welcome to make whatever they wish and you can see their creations on their blogs. I will be posting my project on Monday as a sneak peak. I am going to do a giveaway on my site and others are welcome to do the same on their blog too. So make sure you read the rules, make the rounds, leave some love, and get in on them giveaways.

      UPCOMING EVENTS
Soon I will be setting up Bi-Monthly challenges. They will be based on a variety of different themes. One thing you will be hearing about soon is FAITH-BOOKING. Or actually, it will be called Project Faithbook. If you are not familiar with Faith-booking I will be talking about it in a few days.  Have any of you been involved in Faith-booking? I would love to hear your experiences, thoughts, and ideas. Also any questions or comments you might have.

      BLOGGERS WANTED
I am going to be hosting another Giveaway through a Summer Blog Scavenger Hunt. Any bloggers who are interested in getting involved with this one let me know and I will get you the details. It will take place in August.

      FAITHFUL FRIDAY CHALLENGE
I will also be starting a Faithful Friday Challenge after the blog hop. The first topic is going to be: What is your Faith Word for this year? If you already know then you can go ahead and start that layout for your Faith Book. Or if not then be thinking of what your Faith Word is this year. I will post some faith word ideas in a few days as well. These challenges will run for a 2 week period.

Please let me know if you have anything you want to discuss or questions or anything.Comments are SUPER IMPORTANT to me!! That's how I get to know you!!!Have a Great Week-end Crafty Ones and I will be back tomorrow. Right now I am diving back into that craft room and making some progress!!! Leave me a comment and let me know you stopped by. Talk to me like I talk to you. I am looking forward to it.
